I played a show with The Q and this early sixties Magnatone M10 on Thursday, and I have to say I was quite impressed. I’ve used it for practice before, but cranked up, it still sounds clean and clear. Plus it has true vibrato, unlike Fender, whose “vibrato” is actually tremolo. These amps became uncool as soon as The Beatles and Vox invaded the hearts and minds of America’s teenagers. It sounds like a cross between a Fender twin reverb and a Vox AC30, so it really is a great amp, but I can understand the appeal of the stylish Vox equipment as I own one myself.
